August. It’s HOT!

It is hard to be creative when it is 100 degree’s outside with a humidity index of %1000. I usually use this month to promote ArtRobStudios in libraries, businesses and anywhere else that I can find air conditioning. It is a good idea to use the slow season to do “freebees” that help get your business in front of more people. I like to do free painting classes at the library or community center, have free lessons for friends or hold painting parties in my home. I have been doing this for three years and find that it really helps to boost business and it is fun! I have also been enjoying painting for myself in my studio. This helps to keep me creatively active as well as helping to build my inventory. Take the time today to do something cool and creative. If you need help, give me a call!

Vacation!!

What do artists do when they are on vacation??? Do they keep painting and drawing and creating or do they just take a break?? I find that I am always looking at my fresh new surroundings with an artists eye and I become very inspired. I bring my paints and brushes with me always, just in case and even though I don’t always sit and paint what I have experienced through out the day, I do like to just sit and put paint on to canvas for the great sense of relaxation and happiness it brings. :0)

ArtRobStudios in Pinellas County

There has been a lot of talk lately about the Pinellas Arts Council folding and reinventing its self as a Blog/FB/social media spot. I think it is great. It is moving the Pinellas Art scene into the 21st Century and it is also giving all of the many local artists that never get noticed in some of the bigger venues a platform to be seen and heard. There are so many talented artists in Salt Creek, Sterling Hall, Studio 1212 and on and on that are worth taking note of. I for one love the work of artists like Chris Still and Chihuly, but believe it or not there are thousands of other artists in Pinellas that are worth the time to go and see. Most of the artists of PAVA, Dennis Gaston, Art students from the Beach Art Center just to name a few. Hopefully this new venture will help get some of these folks out into the forefront where they deserve to be.

ArtRobStudios has a full week ahead!

Tuesday- Come and take a painting class with me at the Beach Art Center on

Indian Rocks Beach, FL from 1 to 4.

Wednesday- See you at the Seven Springs Golf and Country Club from 4 to 6 for a Paint Your Glass Off Happy Hour! $10 per person.

Thursday- Back at the Beach Art Center from 7 to 9 pm for Girls Night Out!

$40 gets you snacks, drinks and you will be making a hand painted wine glass, two organic soaps and a pair of silver earrings!

Saturday- Meet me at Dishtopia The Anytime Tea Bar from 2 to 4 and learn how to paint! $20 gets you some great tea (over 100 to choose from) a two hour lesson, all materials needed to create a one of a kind painting that you get to take home!

So here is my new blog!!

I am new to this but I would like to tell you that ArtRobStudios will be at Aston Gardens off of Race Track Road and Linbaugh in Tampa on Sat from 11 to 2. Come and look around the Art Fest and Paint Your Glass Off for free. On Thursday June 23rd I will be at the Beach Art Center in Indian Rocks Beach for a Girl’s Night Out. $40 gets you wine, cheese,soda or water and you get to create a pair of silver earrings, two organic soaps and a handpainted wine glass!
